Bio
Camela Williams Hodsdon was born in Jacksonville, Florida on November 22, 1974. Her parents, Ronnie and Rhonda Williams raised her in a Christian home where she was very involved in her church. At the age of seven she realized her need for Jesus and accepted him as her personal Lord and Savior.

Camela grew up on different styles of music. Growing up in a family that was musically talented, and in a church that was active musically, she could not help but to fall in love with music. She was involved in the children’s choirs at First Baptist, Jacksonville at a very early age and later in the youth and adult choirs.

At nine years old, she became captivated by the four-part harmony of one of Southern Gospel’s greatest quartets, The Cathedrals. For hours she would listen to The Cathedrals, The Nelons, The Talleys, The Speer Family, and many others. Camela was not only drawn to the harmony and strong vocals of these talented groups, but the messages that the songs delivered. At the age of 14, Camela auditioned for her minister of music, Rodney Brooks (1st Baptist Atlanta). It was that audition that led to her first solo at church. It was that same year that the Cathedrals were in concert at her home church. That January evening, Camela felt the call on her life to sing for the Lord.

Since then, she has taken part in many different areas of music. She has been blessed with a solo ministry that has given her the opportunity to sing for various churches, Women's Conferences, Sunday School functions, festivals, weddings, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and other sports related activities in her hometown. She has also been blessed to sing in various groups over the years.

Camela has also worked as a DJ and as an Assistant Program Director for a Southern Gospel radio station. During that time she was able to interview various Christian artists and write articles for a Christian magazine publication. Some of these artists include Sandi Patty, East to West, and TRUTH’s Roger Breland. She also worked for Century II Talent and Booking Agency in Nashville.

Camela studied voice and piano for years in Jacksonville and has also attended the Steve Hurst School of Music in Nashville for vocal study.

Many of her musical influences include; The Nelons, The Cathedrals, Truth, 4HIM, and The Crabb Family.

In June 2004, Camela married Tim Hodsdon of Jacksonville, Florida. On January 15, 2006, the Lord blessed them with a beautiful, little girl Ashley. Tim and Camela both are very thankful and excited about the wonderful things the Lord is doing in their lives and ministry.

Most recently, the Lord has opened the door for Camela to sign with the National Recording Company, Lamp Music Group, based out of Whitesburg, Georgia. Her first national CD will be released in August of 2006 along with her first national single to be sent to radio stations nationwide.

Tim and Camela are active members of their home church, First Baptist Jacksonville. They are members of the Chancel Choir and Camela is a soloist at their church.

Camela and Tim have a burden to be used by the Lord. Their mission is to see lost souls saved and to encourage Christians with their daily walk with the Lord. Both of their hearts' desire is to be led where the Lord would have them go to minister for Him.
